As with many natural remedies, it’s best to try different things and see which works best for you, keeping the considerations below in mind.
A person who observes nature can witness the fact that animals instinctively use earth to cure themselves. Indeed, we owe much of our discovery in this field to animals. Bentonite Clay is a unique its ability to produce an “electrical charge” when hydrated. Upon contact with fluid, its electrical components change, giving it the ability to absorb toxins. Bentonite is known for its ability to absorb and remove toxins, heavy metals, impurities, and chemicals. What is promising as research continues in this area is, depending on the method in which the clay kills the infection, it may not be possible for the MRSA or other bacteria to develop a resistance to it as it does with antibiotics. Bentonites have a high concentration of minerals including silica, calcium, magnesium, sodium, iron, and potassium, all of which are essential to health and wellbeing
Please understand that there are risks involved in EVERYTHING, especially when excessive usage of a substance is involved -- and that includes bentonite clay usage. A good quality Bentonite should be a grey/cream color and anything bordering “pure white” is suspect. It has a very fine, velveteen feel and is odorless and non-staining..
-
Medium Dogs 15kg to 35kg - 2 tablespoon per day
-
Large Dogs over 35 to 50kg - 3 to 4 tablespoons per day
-
Giant Dogs 50kg - 4 tablespoons + per day
-
Cattle, Dairy Cows, Pigs - 2% of dry feed ration per day
-
Chickens, Pheasants, Quail - 5% mixed in feed per day
-
Goats, Sheep, Alpacas, Llamas - 2% in grain per day
-
Horses, Ponies, Donkeys - 1/2 to 1 cup in daily ration
-
Zoo animals - 2% in daily feed
-
Two legged mammals - 1 to 2 heaped tablespoons + per day
The above dosages are only a guideline and should be adjusted depending on the situation. Humans or animals cannot overdose on Bentonite but not feeding enough will not produce the desired effects. Storage - We recommend you store your Bentonites in a non metallic airtight container away from daylight until use. Bentonite clay powders, water and humidity don't mix from a storage perspective and keeping your Bentonite dry until use will be beneficial to it's efficiency and long term storage.
There are literally a thousand uses for Bentonites. Typically, but not exclusively used in water based systems for emulsion stabilizing, gelling, suspending, binding, bodying and disintegrating.

Our Calcium Bentonite Clay
Data Sheet Information
Farm/animals/pets
Although many of our customers purchase this mineral for internal consumption we are not legally permitted to recommend doing so. This is due to the fact that we are mineral suppliers and not licensed nutritionists, health food advisers or doctors. Some minerals can have an effect on certain medication etc, thus making recommending consumption a dangerous practice.
Our Bentonites are either a cosmetic grade clay as used in make-up, skin treatments, soaps etc. Or an animal feed grade clay as used in horticulture and livestock farming. Therefor neither contain any harmful levels of toxins such as Mercury, Lead and Arsenic. I provide a full breakdown of the chemical analysis on the mineral information page thus allowing the customer to make their own informed decision.
Please note that we have yet to find a 'Codex' Food Grade Bentonite available to purchase in this country. You will find companies in other countries claiming 'Food Grade' but their countries standards are much lower than those in the UK. In the UK it has to be tested in a government CODEX lab, in small batches, by law (an expensive process for what is often the same clay sold in other countries as Food Grade). Yet, in the US for example, the mineral can be tested in any laboratory and the limits allowed are considerably higher than those in the UK.

Calcium Bentonite Clay Nutritional Information....
Applications
Understanding the Types of volcanic ash/Montmorillonite clay....
Proving consciousness could easily be raised way above 5% is as simple as raising the level of public knowledge to a higher degree of accuracy. Knowledge is power, and the public needs to know the truth about nature. Here are some interesting features about calcium bentonite clay.
Volcanic ash is bentonite clay and carries a strong negative charge which bonds to the positive charge in many toxins. When it comes in contact with a toxin, chemical, or heavy metal, the clay will absorb the toxin and release between 50 and 70 of earth’s finest minerals for the body to use. It is a healthy option for humans, animals, CONCRETE, soil and wildlife in general.
There are a few types of clays available but the only two that humans, animals and nature really need to pay attention to are; sodium bentonite and calcium bentonite clay. Both of these clays usually forms from volcanic ash that is weathering in the presence of water.
ADVANTAGES/DISADVANTAGES
PREPERATION/STORAGE

What is the difference between sodium bentonite and calcium bentonite clay?
Basically, sodium bentonite contains more sodium and calcium bentonite contains more calcium. Montmorillonite is one of the most effective and powerful healing clays and is present in both calcium and sodium bentonite clay.
Sodium Bentonite absorbs and expands so much more than Calcium Bentonite, that if it is taken internally it could clump up with lack of water and cause constipation.
One difference between them is that the molecular shape of sodium bentonite clay is that of a pyramid. The shape of calcium bentonite is rectangular. The molecular shape impacts the adsorptive properties of the clay. This difference means that the surface area of the calcium bentonite clay molecule is 20 times that of a sodium bentonite clay molecule. The result is the greater surface, the greater the accumulation of positively-charged ions (toxins, impurities) to the surface. The other primary difference is that calcium bentonite clay contains more calcium oxide and sodium bentonite clay contains more sodium oxide. Therefore Calcium bentonite clay does not have limitations on how much we can consume, whereas, sodium bentonite clay does.
CALCIUM BENTONITE CLAY
It is the main active ingredient of fuller's earth which has been used for hundreds of years as a general cleaning agent horticultural and health purposes, animal feed additive and detoxify Soil Conditioner.
A good quality Bentonite should be a grey/cream color and anything bordering “pure white” is suspect. It has a very fine, velveteen feel and is odorless and non-staining.
Bentonite clay has microscopic layers through which it absorbs the toxins in our bowels.
It contains a high amount of silica and it is believed that this silica is extremely beneficial for your body.
Calcium Bentonite is used for cosmetics.
Calcium Bentonite, also called Calcium Montmorillonite. They contain more Calcium them Sodium. It is the rarest of Smectites.
Natural Calcium Bentonite that is a green clay, is well-known for its healing and curative powers because of its high adsorption and absorption powers. It can be used for external use. But, most importantly, this healing clay is extremely good when taken internally, for detoxing and removing toxins.
It is alkaline with a pH of 8 or 9 and above, and is tasteless and has no smell. It is also a smooth, non-gritty clay.
Calcium clays unlike Sodium clays, do not have any consumption restrictions.
Green Calcium Bentonite or Montmorillonite is the best clay for internal cleansing and detoxification. It is referred to as a Living Clay. I highly recommend a fine non-gritty and pure Calcium Bentonite for your internal cleansing.
It also contains other elements important for your body such as calcium, magnesium, potassium, phosphorous, iron, sodium, sulphur and carbon. Most have more than 50 odd trace elements. In addition there can be up to 71 trace elements!
SODIUM BENTONITE CLAY
Sodium bentonite expands when wet, absorbing several times its dry mass in water (which is good for Pond & Lake Lining).
As with Calcium bentonite, Sodium bentonite is widely used in the health and beauty industry in cosmetics and as a detoxification agent
It contains a higher amount of sodium. It absorbs a high amount of water, and can expand up to 15 times its volume!
Sodium Bentonite has a high percentage of sodium in the crystal lattice.
It is mainly used in industries, as liner material, binders, suspension agents, cement tiles, concrete, wallboards and water-proofing building materials.
It is also used in alternative health as an external detoxifier of skin and foot or as a poultice.
However it is extremely useful as a sealant in industries because of its very swelling nature.
Anyway the way it is mined for industrial purposes and the high amount of sodium present does not make it a good edible clay.
Some Sodium Bentonite clays are sold as edible clays. As a result of their high Sodium contents the Sodium clay has to be taken with Apple cider vinegar to neutralize the Sodium content. They must also be consumed in small amounts due to the high Sodium content.
It's recommended we do not eat sodium clay, as it absorbs too much water from your intestines, and could make you const
Sodium Bentonite is also mined for industrial purposes, so how hygeinically it is mined is another issue.
It can be used for external clay baths.
DISADVANTAGES
There are many confusing and misleading statements to lure you to a particular clay. KNOW YOUR CLAY. if you do not already trust the source, do your due diligence by asking the company questions and for a lab test as to the purity, cleanliness and an analysis of the primary minerals.
All clays are different, making it complicated to understand the many differences in clay families. They differ in composition of minerals, colors, textures, swelling capacity, taste, odor, grittiness and purity. For an inexperienced clay person the choices can be overwhelming.
Below are criteria for selecting a quality clay what to expect from a reliable clay source:
*A natural calcium Bentonite clay pure and free of contaminants.
*A pH of 8.7 or above.
*Provides a mineral analysis sheet.
*Provides a certified laboratory microbial test.
*A Montmorillonite-Smectite Clay that Absorbs and Adsorb.
*So pure it is odorless and tasteless.
*It is an all natural vs. processed clay.
*Has professional packaging (no Ziploc bags or hand-written labels) with labels showing directions and ingredients.
*A non – gritty clay
*A company that gives you direct contact information - a phone number, physical address and an e-mail address.
*A company available to answer questions about their clay.
*A reliable company that has been in business for several years.
*A clay that does not stain material.
Continue to ask for the proof and do your due diligence. Educate yourself and use common sense. If you cannot speak to a person from that company, considerate it a red flag.
CALCIUM BENTONITE CLAY/SODIUM BENTONITE CLAY
ALWAYS KEEP AWAY FROM METAL AND IN THE DARK UP UNTIL USAGE. USING THE CLAY DIRECLY WITHOUT ACTIVATION IS FINE BUT TO GAIN EVEN MORE SUPERIORITY THEN EITHER APPLY TO HOT WATER OR LEAVE IN SUNLIGHT FOR TEN MINUTES TO ACTIVATE BEFORE STARTING CLAY PROCESS.
AVOID CONTACT WITH WATER, DAMPNESS OR MOISTURE UNTIL USING THE CLAY.
There are a large number of uses for Bentonite clays so please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions. We supply Bentonite clays in Cosmetic Grade and Animal Feed Grade. Bentonite clays are an all natural product that have an incredible number of uses:
ADVANTAGES
